In your grief and emotional pain, know that God is still good, and that death is part of life. Here is a paraphrased passage from Joel 2 (in the Old Testament), where Joel reminded the people of Israel that even when they faced impending devastation, they should still turn to the Lord, for “He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in loving kindness and relenting of evil.”
Inspite of what has happened, God is much more merciful and loving than we often give Him credit for. There is no doubt that the Lord cares and has cared about the animals that He created...and He cares for you even now, as you mourn the loss of your dear pet. Give all that hurt to Him, ask Him to bring you comfort and to surround you with His love as you walk through
the shadowlands, this very sad and dark time.
"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." James 4:8,
"I will be found by you, says the Lord." Jeremiah 29:14,.
"Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
“Yet even now, Lord, no matter the circumstances I am facing, I trust in You. You are able to bring me through this. Even though my tears seem endless and my days are dark and gloomy, You are able to bring life and light. You are my hope. As I call on You in earnest faith, to walk with me through this. I look to You now in hope, knowing that some day the pain will lessen a bit and my memories of the dear and precious pet You gave to me will cause me to smile again. For now, Lord remind me during the dark times that You ARE right here with me."
